Archie Albert
Barwick was a farmer when he enlisted at the age of 24 in August 1914. He
embarked for the Dardenelles on 4 April 1915 and fought in the Gallipoli
campaign. From 1916 to 1918 he served in France and Belgium. He was awarded the
Croix de Guerre in July 1918 before returning home to Australia in December
1918.
